News – Capcom Remasters 6 NES Classics As The Disney Afternoon Collection

If you need even more proof that the desire for retro gaming is as strong as its ever been, then look no further than Capcom’s latest announcement. That’s because today Capcom announced that they would be giving six additional NES 8-bit classics the same remaster treatment that the Blue Bomber was treated to. This time though, gamers can look forward to returning to various Disney licensed classics through The Disney Afternoon Collection.

So what’s in The Disney Afternoon Collection then? Well first up there is one of the 8-bit era’s all time greatest platformers in the form of Ducktails. Alongside Ducktails though, there’s also the likes of its sequel Ducktails 2, the equally popular Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers 1 and 2, and finally the slightly less well known  Darwing Duck and TaleSpin.

As with the Mega Man Legacy Collection, The Disney Afternoon Collection will bring all six games into the HD era through 1080p resolution, whilst also offering a range of filter options in order to replicate that authentic retro feel. That’s not all though, as The Disney Afternoon Collection will also feature a selection of brand new enhanced gameplay modes. These include the likes of Boss Rush and Time Attack, alongside a rewind feature which will give those not used to the difficulty of the 8-bit era an instant second chance.

Finally, there’s also an in-game museum that will detail the history of these six classics, whilst also giving a glimpse into the world of 8-bit development. All in all this really is great news, and its nice to see six more Capcom classics given the remaster treatment and being made available for new and old audiences alike. The Disney Afternoon Collection will arrive on April 18th for PS4, Xbox One and PC for £15.99/ €19.99/ $19.99.
